What are the standard components on a Power generator set?
All generators are made up of a number of different parts. The following are the main components which are standard on all units: ? Engine ? Control Panel ? Base Frame and Fuel Tank ? Alternator ? Circuit Breakers ? Guards ? Cooling System Optional features can also be ordered.

Can I wire a generator set into my home's electrical system?
No you can not ,but we can. Our experienced technical team has more than enough experience to safely wire it in.

How does a generator set work with the mains electricity supply?
Tilus specializes in making all types of genset?s operate with your mains electricity supply. Tilus supplies and installs automatic change over systems which connect and disconnect automatically from the mains grid.

The generator also automatically shuts down. This system is commonly referred to as a transfer switch.

Transfer switch systems are designed as per clients requirements this can only be done after a site inspection

Will a generator be noisy?
All generators produce some amount of noise from the exhaust, the engine and the airflow.

Some genset?s are super silent but this changes the purchase price.

Can a generator set be used during adverse weather conditions?
Generator sets are designed to function in hostile environments and during extreme weather conditions. To extend the life of a generator and to prevent such things as shorting and rusting, if possible they should be protected from the elements.

When and how do I service and maintain my generator set?
The frequency and type of service required to maintain a generator set will depend on a number of things including the usage of the generator, the environment that it operates in and the percentage load that it carries.
